Aggressive Tread Design: The HF-822 diamond-pattern tread uses widely spaced, sharp-edged knobs for excellent off-road traction. The raised center blocks roll smoothly when straight, while exposed edges bite into dirt and gravel.
Cornering Grip: Large, heavy shoulder knobs on the edges of the tire enhance cornering stability and control. These pronounced side lugs keep the bike planted when leaning into turns.
Robust Construction: Thick rubber compound with reinforced sidewalls makes the tire highly durable against punctures and cuts. Its rugged casing is designed to withstand hard impacts and abrasion from rocks and roots.
Versatile Pressure Range: Rated 30–55 PSI, it can be run low for a cushy, high-traction ride or higher for fast rolling and lower rolling resistance. This versatility suits everything from loose trails to packed dirt and pavement.
Gum Sidewall Styling: The tan (gum) sidewall not only looks retro-chic but also indicates a slightly thicker sidewall layer.
Easy Installation: Standard wire-bead clincher fits any 26″ wheel (ISO 559) and uses a Schrader valve (tube required). No special tools or tubeless setup are needed.
All-Condition Capability: Performs well on mixed terrain – from singletrack and fire roads to light mud, gravel paths, and urban streets. Its tread sheds dirt and mud easily, so it stays grabby even in messy conditions.
Bike Types: Designed for 26-inch mountain bikes (hardtail or rigid), as well as cruisers, hybrids/commuters, comfort bikes, and retro-style beach cruisers. (Any bike using 26×2.0 tires can take advantage of this tread.)
Terrain: Best for off-road and mixed-surface riding – trails, gravel and dirt roads, park paths, and light singletrack. Also suitable for urban cruising or commuting when you want more grip than a slick tire provides. Not intended as a high-speed road racing tire.
Use Cases: Ideal for mountain biking, trail riding, bikepacking, and general-purpose riding where durability and traction are priorities. Also great for custom cruiser or chopper bikes where style and dependability matter.
Traction: Deep knobby tread and broad contact area give confident grip on loose gravel, mud, and wet roots. The design sheds debris to maintain bite.
Durability: Rugged sidewalls and robust rubber compound resist cuts and punctures, extending tire life even under hard use.
Comfort: The 2.00″ cross-section provides a high-volume profile. Low-pressure air (around 30–35 PSI) offers a plush, vibration-damping ride on rough ground, absorbing bumps and trail chatter.
Terrain Versatility: Balances off-road control with decent road manners. While not as fast as a slick tire on pavement, its semi-aggressive tread still rolls fairly well on hard surfaces without sacrificing dirt-road ability.
Wheel Size & Clearance: Fits 26×2.0″ (ISO 559) rims. Ensure your frame and fork have at least ~2.1″ (54 mm) of clearance to accommodate the tire’s width and any mud accumulation.
Rim Width: Best on standard MTB rims; 19–29 mm internal rim widths are typical for 2.0″ tires.
Inner Tube: Wire-bead clincher requires a standard inner tube (Schrader valve). Tubeless conversion is not applicable unless you use a folding bead version.
Pressure Note: Always use a quality floor pump with a gauge. Inflate within the 30–55 PSI range to match your load and terrain. Under-inflating beyond the lower limit risks pinch flats, while over-inflating above the high end can stress the tire.
